Here are some of the works of Harold Edgerton for his pioneering work in high speed photography, multi flash and microsecond imagery. Some of his works and of others are as below.
Milk-Drop Coronet
This gives an indication on how fast the film moves.
Bullet cutting through King of Diamonds.
Bullet cutting through Queen of Hearts-Ouch.
Bullet piercing through a banana
Bullet piercing through an apple
Water from faucet
Swirls around spinning fan blades
A few more images are available here, here and here. This one with liquid sculptures here is also very impressive.

Take care...
Hey Nabiy, your blog has been static for so long?
Shruti: Cool.
what happened to the post on the dismal world ????
wish we could all afford a high speed camera.
nabeel: What you can try is to take a flash photograph of a moving object in a dark room.
E.g. a tennis ball in motion or something more easier to capture would be a running tap or water from the tap cutting through the water already in a container. The possibilities are endless.
I'll say what Swati said: WOW!
Jas :-)
Let me explain the pic...spoils the mystery and abstractness of the whole pic...but let me : the curves are those of the chair...the st. lines are those of the patio window and the bottom right hand corner noise in the pic is from the patio door and its door-knob. so lots of merging there :DDDDD
Now I know too. Thank you!
